Salone del Mobile 2025

FIERA RHO, MILANO

8th – 13th april 2025

Olivari presented “4X4 | 4 Authors, 4 New Collections”

From April 8th to 13th, 2025, Olivari took center stage at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, at Pavilion 24 Stand C26, with an exclusive preview: 4X4 | 4 Authors, 4 New Collections.
The stand, sober and elegant, offered visitors a brief yet engaging informational journey through the new models and their respective Authors.
Each was presented on individual totems, showcasing the new creations in various finishes alongside a narrative in which each Designer shares their story through images of their most significant works.
Olivari introduced four new proposals, each conceived by internationally renowned designers.
Antonio Citterio, Naoto Fukasawa, Matteo and Renzo Piano each developed a new handle design.
Meanwhile, Studio Herzog & de Meuron completed the Basel collection with all its components.

The new products presented at the Salone del Mobile 2025

  • Brera – Antonio Citterio

Brera originates from a matrix deeply rooted in classical typologies, drawing inspiration from traditional Milanese handles.
Once more compact, these handles have elongated over the past twenty years, evolving in their proportions.
The project reinterprets this transformation with balance, blending historical memory with contemporary sensibility.
Antonio Citterio

  • Dolmen – Naoto Fukasawa

This door handle has a shape that seems to melt into a form that fits the hand.
It represents a moment in which geometric forms shaped by the body gradually evolve into an organic, soft contour.
The name “Dolmen” draws inspiration from ancient megalithic structures, flat stone slabs supported by uprights, that reflect both the handle’s elemental strength and its refined elegance.
Like its namesake, the design achieves timeless presence while seamlessly integrating into its environment, quietly enhancing the spaces it inhabits.
Naoto Fukasawa

  • Mare – Matteo e Renzo Piano

Glass has always been a part of our architectural language and often becomes a defining element in our projects.
From this simple reflection came the idea of developing a handle in which glass takes center stage, with metal reduced to a purely structural support function.
The result is Mare, a handle with a rigorous and essential form, yet rich in surprising reflections, which, even in its name, evokes the nature that inspired us.
Matteo and Renzo Piano

  • Basel – Herzog & de Meuron

The Basel collection was originally created for our projects and was crafted in wood, providing warm and pleasant to the touch objects.
The collaboration with Olivari allowed us to complete the collection with handles and to use brass, a material that enhances the sculptural forms with durability, functionality, and intriguing finishes.
The common idea behind all the elements is conical geometry, which gradually evolves into another shape, ensuring that each piece is both functional and ergonomic.
This unique geometric evolution allows the Basel collection elements to be used in different architectural contexts.

Olivari and Torre Velasca: From the Handle to the City. Presence and Continuity of the Past

On the occasion of the restoration and redevelopment of Torre Velasca, Olivari pays tribute to the iconic Milanese architecture by Studio BBPR — architects Lodovico B. Belgiojoso, Enrico Peressutti, and Ernesto N. Rogers — through a narrative developed with a series of meaningful images displayed in a large section of the stand.
These images tell the story of the tower, both past and present, highlighting some of its defining details, such as the Velasca handle.
The Velasca handle, produced by Olivari in 1956, has once again been supplied as part of the tower’s recent conservative restoration.
