Living

Living is a door handle reduced to the essential, immediate to read and defined as a line traced in space. The design stems from the interpenetration of elementary forms: the horizontal lever for the grip and the underlying volume that acts as the axis of rotation. A rigorous and contemporary design handle that translates an architectural approach to the scale of the object, designed by Dominique Perrault.

Door handles - Square

Living,

The essential nature of Living is revealed in the interpenetration of elementary forms attributable to the two components of the handle: the horizontal part itself, intended for the grip, and the insertion of the underlying volume, used to connect with the plane of the door and functioning as the axis of rotation.

— Dominique Perrault

This character of linearity and the play of minimal volumes express a continuity with our approach to architecture, even when transposed to the domestic scale of the object of use.

— Olympic Tennis Center, Madrid, 2009

The clarity of the proposal leaves no room for the superfluous or the useless: “This is a handle”.
