Tel Aviv, 1963

Arik Levy lives and works between Saint-Paul de Vence and Paris.
Artist, sculptor and designer, he develops a research that moves across art, architecture and design, shaping a distinctive language built on the balance between material, light and perception.
His works explore the relationship between geometry and nature, order and spontaneity, transforming surfaces and volumes into dynamic presences within space.
Born in Israel, he moved to Europe in the late 1980s.
After studies in Switzerland and Paris, together with a significant experience in Japan, he developed a design sensibility influenced by minimalism, the value of gesture and the relationship between people and environment.
During the 1990s he collaborated with contemporary dance and opera companies, developing a scenographic approach that still defines his work today.
His works and installations are part of major international public and private collections, including the Centre Pompidou, the V&A Museum and The Baker Museum.
In 2009 he was awarded the title of Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Republic.

The Rock door handle translates my sculptural language into “Functional Art”, a dialogue between man and space, interior and exterior, touch and form. Its faceted surfaces catch and reflect light, transforming with every angle, evoking something both futuristic and ancient. — Arik Levy
