Vigevano, 1926-2011

After studying in Milan and Venice, Stoppino becomes an associate of Vittorio Gregotti and Ludovico Meneghetti. Together, they design pieces such as the Cavour Armchair(1959). He opens his own studio in 1968 and mainly works on design for the home.

Kartell’s best selling molded plastic pieces, such as the stackable table 4905 (1969) and the six compartment magazine rack 4675 (1972).

He has won two Golden Compass Awards: in 1979 for the Sheraton sideboard for Acerbis, present in London’s Victoria and Albert Museum collection, and in 1991 for Olivari’s Alessia doorknob.
